Project Brief
After finding their dream location, if not their dream house, Katrina and Richard turned to Cape Cod Australia to transform
it into the family home they wanted. The brief included a first floor addition with brand new bedrooms for the couple and
their teenage sons, new bathrooms as well as revamping their informal living space on the ground floor.
The Results
The new house ticks all the boxes for the family and the new first floor addition fits seamlessly with the original Californian style while complementing the streetscape as well. The new first floor includes high ceilings like its counterpart on the ground floor, four new bedrooms (including a spacious master suite with walk-in robe and ensuite), plus a large family bathroom. On the ground floor a dining room was added in the place of an existing bedroom, while the informal living area was opened up to create a large open-plan kitchen/lounge area.
